Student answer (Band 6.0)

While inflation have increased significantly from from past 2 decades the value of money have decreased making the living situation very difficult for to maintain for people of all ages , so it became important to save money for futur homes ,projects ,car purchase , even for young generation in their early twenties they need to save up ,others argue that its imprtant to spend and enjoy life as much as possible , this essay will discuss both sides ,as i personaly believe that you need have a balance beteween enjoying life and having a backup plan .

the first thing we get to learn when we become an adult is to save money to have financial stability that menas whe need to limit our spending only on the important stuff to make it priority to save up for futur events or just to aquire material things that last ,this is across all cultures , today young people are obligated to have a savings account as the economy is in constant recession and the job market is saturated , inflation rise every year so people need to have a financial plan for the upcoming years as the futur isn't confirmed ,for instance the financial crisis of 2008 that hit the housing-market and caused the economie to collapse and get people to lose their homes and jobs.

on the other hand we can't let ourselves live in the futur to worry about the things that hasen't happened yet and forget to live in the present and enjoy life , especialy young generation as they starting to discover themselves and have minimum responsebilities ,in point of view its very important to have balance between saving up and just casualy enjoying the things you work for to be satisfied in your lifetime and not let the externel things control your life style ,after all you have no control of the economy or the futur but you should always have backup plan for example the money saved up can be used to see the wonders of the world or just to buy the things our closest freindss and family wanted ,ormaybe to buy a home , a car , a ticket to festival to be comfortable in life .

in conclusion both sides have their pros and cons and give valid arguments ,as i pereviously said its important to have balance between the two and be satisfied with your decisions .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address the question by discussing both the value of saving and the importance of enjoying the present, and your position—that people should balance the two—is clear in the introduction and conclusion. The examples of the 2008 financial crisis and using savings for a home or travel are relevant. This meets the task well, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that young people are “obligated” to save because the job market is saturated could be linked more clearly to how savings help them. The discussion also gives more detail about general financial uncertainty than about why saving matters specifically for young people. Developing that distinction and supporting each main reason more precisely would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. “On the other hand” clearly signals the shift to the opposing consideration, and the final paragraph returns to your balanced position. However, cohesion is sometimes weakened by very long sentences that combine several ideas, particularly in the opening and the second body paragraph. The first body paragraph also moves from adult financial stability to economic conditions and then the 2008 crisis without clearly showing how each point connects. Some linking phrases, such as “after all” and “for instance,” help, but the progression can feel list-like. Use shorter sentences, make each paragraph’s central point explicit, and connect examples directly to the claim they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “financial stability,” “savings account,” “inflation,” “job market,” and “backup plan.” These choices make your main ideas understandable, and you attempt more specific expressions such as “housing-market” and “material things.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “futur,” “responsebilities,” “live in the futur,” and “the economy is in constant recession.” Some repetition of “save,” “money,” and “future” also limits flexibility. Aim for accurate forms and more natural collocations, such as “save for future expenses” and “economic uncertainty.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise expressions would make your vocabulary more effective and easier to read.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “as,” and “for instance,” and you use contrast to organise your argument. However, errors in sentence construction and agreement are frequent enough to make parts of the response difficult to follow. For example, “inflation have increased” and “the value of money have decreased” have subject–verb agreement problems, while “for to maintain” is an incorrect infinitive pattern. Several sentences run together without clear punctuation, especially the opening sentence and the long sentence beginning “on the other hand.” Practise building one complete main clause at a time, checking agreement and verb patterns, and using full stops to separate related but distinct ideas. This will help your range of structures communicate more reliably.
