Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays many people argue that all individuals should save some expenses for their future, especially the youth. I strongly agree with this view as having a saved amount of money will help in their future expenses or for any mishappenings. As teenagers are in the phase of their life, where money plays an essential role.

Firstly, it prepares you to become independant. As large number of individuals had a dream of studying or working in abroad. In order to fulfill their dreams they need to be financially strong.Additionally, higher studies demand alot expenses such as travelling cost, tution fees, food expenses and rent. The saved money can be used in this circumstances and a sudden pressure will not be put on the students. Moreover, money can be used for several other purposes such as buying a dream car or home which you are wishing from a long time.

Secondly, it secures your future in many ways. As life is unpredictable and we do not know about any mishappening which can happen, to be secure in this conditions money plays a crucial role. For instance, if an individual faced any accidents or any medical issue it can be solved without depending on bank loans. The financial pressure on an individual will be reduced by this. Furthermore, it helps in making your life little enjoyable. With money you can take trips, helping you in many ways. It helps in boosting communication skills, as it involves talking to people in another country, knowing about their culture and traditons. This helps to expand your knowledge and have a stronger foundation in your career prospectives.

All in all, it can be concluded that having a sufficient amount of money plays an essential role in teenagers life. As it helps you in securing your future and will make you ready for financial stress. In my opinion , i believe developing this habits will definitely help you in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and the conclusion returns to the view that saving prepares young people for future financial pressures. The two main reasons, funding education and coping with unexpected medical costs, are relevant and supported with examples, such as tuition, rent and accidents. This gives the response a solid, on-task foundation. However, some points are less fully explained: the claim that saving makes someone “independent” could be linked more directly to how financial preparation creates independence, while the discussion of trips and communication skills moves away from the central case for saving. Develop the strongest reasons in more depth and keep each example explicitly connected to the benefits of saving.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding summary. The progression from education costs to emergencies is generally logical, and examples help clarify the main points. This provides coherent overall organisation. At times, however, linking is mechanical, with repeated “Additionally,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore,” and some connections between ideas are not fully clear. For example, the move from saving for emergencies to taking trips and improving communication skills feels abrupt. The opening fragment, “As teenagers are in the phase of their life…,” also interrupts the introduction’s flow. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each supporting point and the paragraph’s main idea explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “financially strong,” “higher studies,” “medical issue,” and “financial pressure,” so the reader can follow your main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “foundation in your career prospects.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or awkward, including “save some expenses,” “mishappenings,” “a sudden pressure,” and “career prospectives.” Spelling errors such as “independant,” “tution,” and “traditons” further reduce precision. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they make the writing less natural and sometimes require the reader to interpret your meaning. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if an individual faced any accidents…” and clauses introduced by “as” and “which.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent: “As teenagers are in the phase of their life…” is an incomplete sentence, and “As life is unpredictable and we do not know about any mishappening…” is also left without a complete main clause. Other examples include “a large number of individuals had a dream” and “in this circumstances,” where agreement or number is not controlled. Punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise completing subordinate clauses and checking agreement, articles and plurals; this will make your varied structures more reliable.
