Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your response takes a generally clear position that people should save money, and it gives relevant reasons, including high household costs and the possibility of future problems. However, the task asks how far you agree or disagree, and the position is asserted rather than explained in depth. Several points are difficult to follow or do not clearly support the argument—for example, the discussion of government salaries and the claim that “the wives should try to save the money.” There is little specific explanation or example showing how saving benefits young people in particular. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement directly, then develop two relevant reasons with clear explanations and a concrete example for each.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has an opening, several body paragraphs and a brief conclusion, so there is an attempt to organise the answer. Some ideas are grouped around saving and household expenses. However, progression is difficult to follow: the paragraph about workers’ salaries shifts between low pay, government intentions and empty purses without showing how these points connect. Repeated statements such as “We should save the money” and “The people should save the money” do not advance the argument. Linking words such as “because,” “but” and “to sum up” are used, but relationships between ideas are often unclear. Give each paragraph one main point, explain it in sequence, and use clear references and transitions to connect the reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “save money,” “future,” “salary” and “prices,” and the reader can identify the general subject throughout. However, the range is narrow and key phrases are repeated frequently, especially “save the money” and “very important.” Some word choices or combinations make meaning unclear, such as “homeless things” and “take respect those person.” Spelling errors, including “Nowdays,” “expence” and “workeres,” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and check that each phrase fits its meaning. More precise wording for household costs, financial security and young people’s independence would help you explain your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple patterns, and you attempt some longer sentences with “because” and “when.” However, errors in basic sentence construction and verb forms are frequent and sometimes make the relationships between ideas hard to understand. Examples include “If money are not in our cloth,” “The people are not take respect,” and “the prices of things is very high.” There are also problems with subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, as in “the salary come” and “So the people are not save the money.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to agreement, verb forms after auxiliaries, and punctuation between complete sentences.
