Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's era of increasing levels of prices for everything saving money has become such a hard task to do. However, it is as essential to save money.
Money has become such a useful resource in today's world and saving it is very essential for everyone including young people and I agree with this statement. Although, there are both pros and cons to deciding to do this. In this essay I will support my opinion with specific examples.
One of the main reasons I am in favour of saving money for future is that a person's condition changes with time so he must have to plan beforehand so the youngsters must also be taught the ways to save money. For example, a person may meet an accident or he may be diagnosed with something which requires a high sum of value to be cured. This saved money will be helpful in these type of situation acting ass a saviour in difficult times.
Another reason is the value of money, if a person starts to save money from an early age he will eventually built this habit of preserving money which will support him through rough times or even when if he wants to buy something which costs alot.
On the other hand, some people don't prefer saving money for future. They believe that saving money is actually wasting money because a person's life can't be guaranted. So, instead of saving money just use it and spend extravagantly and fulfill your need and desires.
To sum up, saving money is important as much as earning and spending it usefully. Completion of your desires is important but not important then not saving money if you want to have a secure future. Therefore, it is important for everyone to save money including young people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that everyone, including young people, should save, and you maintain this view in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, especially the need to prepare for accidents or illness and the benefit of developing a saving habit early. These examples address the task and show why the issue matters. The opposing view—that life is uncertain and money should be spent now—is also acknowledged, so the response covers both sides. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the claim that saving supports a future purchase could be linked more clearly to financial security, and the counterargument is not examined before you reaffirm your position. More precise development of these ideas would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for supporting reasons and the opposing view, and a conclusion. The progression from emergencies to building a habit is generally logical, and phrases such as “Another reason” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and the opening repeats the idea that saving is essential before the main position is stated. Connections within sentences are sometimes unclear, particularly in “the value of money, if a person starts to save…” and the final comparison of desires with saving. Use clearer sentence boundaries and refer back to ideas explicitly so that each paragraph develops smoothly rather than relying mainly on signposting phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “save money,” “future,” “secure future,” and “rough times.” There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as describing savings as “a saviour in difficult times.” However, the range is repetitive, with “money,” “saving,” and “important” appearing frequently, and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or informal. For example, “a high sum of value” is not a natural way to describe medical costs, while “spend extravagantly” does not accurately express the opposing view of enjoying money now. Spelling errors such as “guaranted” and “alot” also reduce control. Aim for precise phrases such as “medical expenses” and “build financial security.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if a person starts to save money from an early age” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” This gives the response some variety, and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete, and punctuation sometimes makes relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For instance, “Although, there are both pros and cons…” is not correctly connected to the surrounding sentence, and “a person's condition changes with time so he must have to plan” contains an awkward modal construction. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement, as in “he will eventually built.” Review clause boundaries, modal verbs, and verb forms, and proofread long sentences for clarity.
