Student answer (Band 6.5)
I completely agree that financial security is necessary for everyone, regardless of their age. In my opinion, saving money can be used for investment and it can also act as a safety net.
Young people can save money more easily. Often times they stay with their parents, and work part time jobs. While they earn money, they do not have so much bills to pay. This gives them the opportunity to start saving. When they become an adult, they can use this money to invest in a startup, business venture, or even to gain any skills. For example, a person has worked in a cafe since chilhood and saved up money untill he has to get a job. Because he has money now, he can invest to start a cafe of his own. This would not be possible if he did not save and spent all his money. So, having financial backup can give people more freedom to follow their passion.
On the other hand, there could be various kinds of emergencies. Such as health or job problems. There are so many medical conditions that can happen very suddenly and need a lot of money. People or their family members can be diagnosed with diabetes, heart problems or cancer at any point in life. These conditions need long term treatment and medicinces which are quite costly. If someone does not have a saving, it would be very hard for them to manage the situation, as regular salary would not cover this extra expense. Moreover, a person could lose their a job suddenly. The saved money could give them a sense of security.
To conclude, apart from the obvious advantage of saving money, which is in oldage a person would not be relying entirely on others, there are other benefits of keeping financial backup in any age. It gives people more security and option.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you completely agree that saving is important, and you give relevant reasons involving investment, emergencies, and later-life independence. The café example helps illustrate how savings can support a personal ambition, while the discussion of medical costs and job loss addresses the value of a financial safety net. The response therefore covers the task well. However, the reasons are not developed equally: the investment example is explained in detail, whereas the job-loss point is only briefly stated, and the conclusion introduces old-age support without developing it in the main discussion. To strengthen the response, explain each key benefit more fully and connect the conclusion directly to the arguments already established.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present different benefits, and a conclusion restates the position. The progression from saving for opportunities to preparing for emergencies is logical, and phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal the shift. Some connections are less smooth, however. “Such as health or job problems” is a sentence fragment after the preceding statement, and “Moreover” introduces job loss without much explanation of how it relates to the medical-cost discussion. The final sentence also ends abruptly, leaving the conclusion less complete. Use full sentences, make the relationship between examples explicit, and ensure the conclusion provides a finished summary.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “financial security,” “safety net,” “business venture,” “medical conditions,” and “long term treatment.” These choices make the main ideas clear, and “follow their passion” expresses the benefit of having financial flexibility. Some wording is imprecise or unnatural, such as “gain any skills,” “have a saving,” and “financial backup.” There are also spelling errors in “chilhood,” “untill,” “medicinces,” and “oldage.” These do not prevent understanding, but they limit the accuracy and polish of the vocabulary. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “develop skills,” “savings,” and “financial cushion.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “This would not be possible if he did not save” and a relative clause in “money, which is in oldage…”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “they do not have so much bills” has a quantifier and plural-noun mismatch, while “a person could lose their a job” contains an unnecessary article. “Such as health or job problems” is a fragment, and “if he did not save and spent all his money” does not maintain a consistent verb pattern. Review articles, agreement, and parallel verb forms, and revise fragments into complete sentences. This would make your varied structures more controlled.
