IELTS Writing Task 2 question
It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Saving money for future is becoming significantly important for everyone, specially for young people. I exceptionally agree to this statement because the condition of every country is being effected and the economy is dropping every year.
Young people are the healthiest in a society. They can work with greater energy and earn more than they really need to spend for their basic needs. Managing their expenses and saving for their future can benefit them when they become old and do not have much energy to work. However, saving money does not mean that you have to save cash or some amount in your bank. Infact, it means that a person can invest somewhere and get benefitted after a long time. For instance, individuals, nowadays, are investing in gold marketes, multichain companies or properties. This activity turns into a great advantage after a long peiod of time.
In the present time, every state is preparing its individuals for an expected world war. A person who will save money will not be affected badly than a person, who did not save any money. This factor alarms every individual to save their future by saving money. Young people are more energetic than olders and they get more work in their workplaces. Their better performance can eventually promote them to bigger ranks.
In conclusion, I largely believe that everyone, including young people, must save their money for their future because it helps them in those times, when a person is not available to work and earn money for himself/herself or their family.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I exceptionally agree”) and conclusion, and you give relevant reasons: saving can support people when they are older and unable to work, while investment may provide future returns. These points address the question, but they are not developed equally. The discussion of investing in gold, companies, or property would be stronger with a specific explanation or example of how this helps a young saver. The claim that countries are preparing for a world war is also broad and is not clearly connected to why everyone should save. To strengthen the response, explain the practical benefits of saving in more detail and use examples that directly support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The paragraphs generally group related ideas, and transitions such as “However,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, progression within the second body paragraph is less clear: the discussion moves from a possible world war to young people’s energy and workplace performance without explaining the link between these points. Some connections are also mechanical, particularly the repeated references to saving money and the repeated use of “young people.” Make the relationship between each reason explicit, and use clearer referencing or varied transitions so the argument develops more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “basic needs,” “invest,” “properties,” and “performance,” and the main ideas remain understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors reduce precision: “exceptionally agree,” “the economy is dropping,” “multichain companies,” and “a long peiod of time.” Some phrases are unclear or unnatural, such as “save their future” and “get more work in their workplaces.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than choosing more elaborate wording. Proofreading spelling and checking whether each expression conveys your intended meaning would make the vocabulary more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “when,” “because,” and “who,” and most sentences communicate the intended meaning. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “Saving money for future” needs an article before “future,” while “the condition of every country is being effected” has an unclear and awkward construction. In “A person who will save money will not be affected badly than a person, who did not save,” the comparison and verb forms are not well controlled. Review article use and comparative structures, and check that clauses are joined and punctuated clearly. These corrections would improve accuracy without sacrificing sentence variety.
