Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is believed by many people that saving money is crucial for everyone, including youngsters, for their future. In my opinion, although it is beneficial for anyone to save a handsome amount for their future, but if it is accumulated by prohibiting themeslves to spend money, thinking just about the future would have consequences.
Saving money is the best way to secure financial freedom for everyone including young people, from dictation and requiring help from others. No one knows what will happen to their job next month because artificial intelligence is advancing at a faster pace than it was anticipated and wiping out employement opportunities, therefore saving is beneficial in the longer run. Similarly, if people want to live a happy life even after retiring, saving money would be helpful for them in their crucial times. For example, many people nowadays put aside a fixed amount of money every month, and when they are out of job or retire, they use that saved money without begging others, which is not possible if they have not saved anything for hard times.
However, saving money for future does not means that people have to compromise on their basic needs and enjoyment. If they are just saving money and not spending on better quality food or transportation, there are chances that they may develop health issues and the saved money will be of no use instead of buying medicines. Many people in Pakistan use motorbikes which are hard to drive compared with cars, even though they are financially able, they save cost of fuel and put that amount in saving for future.
In conclusion, saving money for future is important for people of every age to secure their freedom and to prepare for any hard time, but it should not let you spend on your own well-being.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support saving for security, while arguing that it should not come at the expense of present well-being. The discussion of job loss and retirement is relevant, and the example of setting money aside each month helps illustrate the benefits. You also address the opposing concern by explaining that neglecting food or transport can harm health. However, some points are asserted more than developed: the link between AI and job insecurity needs a clearer explanation, and the Pakistan motorbike example is not fully connected to the claim about saving at the cost of quality of life. To strengthen the response, explain these examples and make your degree of agreement explicit in the conclusion as well as the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting saving, a contrasting paragraph about present needs, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Similarly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. The progression is generally understandable, but some connections are abrupt or unclear. For instance, the move from AI-related job losses to retirement is logical in principle, yet the relationship between these examples could be made more explicit. The motorbike example also needs a clearer link to the preceding point about health and well-being. Some sentences carry several ideas at once, which weakens cohesion. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including phrases such as “financial freedom,” “retiring,” “put aside,” and “hard times.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “from dictation,” “handsome amount,” and “save cost of fuel.” There are also spelling errors, including “employement” and “themeslves,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and precise wording: for example, describe people as being “financially independent” rather than “from dictation,” and say they “save on fuel costs.” Proofreading spelling and checking collocations would make your vocabulary more controlled and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if they are just saving money” and a relative clause in “which is not possible if they have not saved anything.” Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “although … but” uses two contrasting conjunctions where only one is needed, and “saving money for future does not means” has an incorrect verb form and missing article. The long sentence beginning “No one knows what will happen to their job next month” also joins several clauses in a way that makes the structure difficult to follow. Work on subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
