Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is a growing believe that saving money is crucial for everybody, even young individuals, because money is essential for the future. I strongly agree with this opinion, because money guarantees a financial security and people should have extra money to account for any risks that might come up in the future.

A huge problem in many society is that most of the individuals have never learned a vital life skill, which is saving money. Infact, Most of them run short out of money in the last few days of every month before their next salary date because they never have clear plans even for the near future. From my perspective, even children need to develop such an important skill to learn the value of money the sense of responsibility from a from a young age. People can save money by either by collecting few dollars daily or by strictly planning their expenditures to be less than their salaries. Subsequently, this will ensure them a stable financial security.

Another crucial reason for saving money if to build a financial cushion to prepare from sudden, unexpected circumstances in the future. For instance, loosing a job, sickness, sudeen need for a surgery or any other scinario can put individuals in a detrimental financial situation if they were not well-prepared. If people did not save extra money, they will have to borrow from others of fall into dept. Another examppe in the famous pandemic, COVID-19, which made thousand of people loose their jobs for months. Individuals who were not well prepared suffered from the situation more that those whom didn't.

In conclusion, It is crucial that all people save money for unexpected conditions, ot else they will have to take loans that they can't afford in the future. Moreover, money can guarantee a secure finantial cusion and a secure future for all individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: “I strongly agree,” and the conclusion reinforces the view that saving prepares people for unexpected events. You address the importance of saving for both young people and adults, and support your argument with relevant examples, including job loss and the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion of teaching children responsibility and the need for an emergency cushion extends the main ideas effectively. Some claims, however, are broad—for example, that money “guarantees” financial security—and the first body paragraph could explain more specifically how young people can build saving habits or why this benefits them later. More precise qualification and fuller development of that point would strengthen an otherwise clear, relevant response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs give separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your view. The progression from developing a saving habit to preparing for emergencies is logical, and examples generally appear where readers expect them. You also use linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Another crucial reason,” and “In conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Subsequently” does not quite express the relationship between budgeting and financial security, and “Another example in the famous pandemic” is not a complete, smoothly connected sentence. The conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than synthesising them. Clearer links between claims and examples, with less repetition, would make the progression more fluent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “financial cushion,” “unexpected circumstances,” “expenditures,” and “borrow,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There is also an attempt to use more formal language, such as “detrimental financial situation.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: “growing believe,” “run short out of money,” “loosing,” “sudeen,” and “financial cusion.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “a stable financial security” and “prepare from sudden” circumstances. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding formal-sounding words. Proofreading spelling and checking common collocations would improve clarity and make your vocabulary more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “From my perspective, even children need to develop such an important skill to learn the value of money the sense of responsibility” lacks a clear grammatical connection between the two ideas. The sentence beginning “Another example in the famous pandemic” is also incomplete, while “if they were not well-prepared” shifts awkwardly from the surrounding general statements. There are further issues with articles, agreement, and sentence punctuation. Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then check that subordinate clauses and verb forms fit the intended meaning.
