Student answer (Band 5.5)

when it comes to the issue of people save money for their future,a significant number of inhabitants stand with different kinds of view.while a good number of individual tend to take this issue as rosy, other seem to hold the opposite trend.however i am going to outline both side of this issue prior to giving a reasoned conclusion.

on the other hand a great number of merits come from this affair in many ways.the first and foremost point is that achieving future gaol.to cite an example, people who can dream at younger age if he savings money then in future he can success to his dream complete.another worth mentioning point is that financial security.to give an example sometimes people get money problem in many ways, thoose time people need money for solution the situation.while any person who can't save money ,when he will get into a trouble then he can't handle the situation.last but not least,is that better education.when people at younger age if he savings money then he will study abroad or top level university, because university tution fees is very high ammount balance.so,savings money provide your life better educated.

however, it seems to be more likely to come up with a couple of shortcomings.to began with, miss the present enjoying life.for example,if you only earn money and savings for your future but you cannot enjoy your life at present.moreover, sometimes people earn low ammount of money then he can't save money for his future.

To sum up, although saving money is essential for achieving future goals and ensuring financial security, I believe that people should also enjoy their present lives and focus on their current needs. Therefore, I partly agree that saving money is important for everyone, including young people, but the amount they save should depend on their financial situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear, qualified position in the conclusion: you “partly agree” and say saving should depend on a person’s financial situation. The response also presents relevant reasons, including future goals, financial security, education, and enjoying the present. However, the position is not clearly established in the introduction, which promises to discuss “both side” rather than stating your view. Several points are only briefly explained: for example, the education point says savings could enable study abroad, but does not explain why this is especially important for young people or how it supports your overall position. The counterargument about low income is relevant but also needs development. Make your stance explicit from the start and support each main reason with clearer explanation or a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph supporting saving, a paragraph on drawbacks, and a concluding position. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are introduced in quick succession without being fully connected. Phrases such as “the first and foremost point,” “another worth mentioning point,” and “last but not least” create a repetitive, list-like effect. Some linking expressions are also used in ways that do not clearly show the relationship between ideas, such as beginning the supporting paragraph with “on the other hand.” Improve cohesion by grouping related ideas, using transitions that accurately signal contrast or addition, and explaining how each example supports the point before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “financial security,” “future goals,” and “current needs,” and these phrases help communicate your main ideas. There is also some effort to vary expressions, for instance “a couple of shortcomings.” However, the range is limited and many choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “inhabitants stand with different kinds of view,” “achieving future gaol,” and “better education”; spelling errors such as “gaol” and “ammount” also reduce precision. Aim for natural collocations rather than elaborate phrases: for example, say that people “hold different views” and “achieve their goals.” Check spelling and word forms carefully, and use straightforward, precise vocabulary when unsure.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, including “although saving money is essential … I believe that people should also enjoy their present lives.” This shows an effort to express contrast and qualification. However, the range is limited overall, and many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, or sentence construction. For example, “people who can dream at younger age if he savings money” has unclear clause structure and incorrect agreement, while “people get money problem” lacks appropriate grammatical marking. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several sentences beginning in lowercase and clauses joined without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add one controlled complex structure at a time. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement and complete sentence boundaries.
