Student answer (Band 6.0)
Saving money is an essential thing for everyone including young people for a secured future. I believe that everyone should save money for future but spending money on present also an important thing.
One major advantage of saving money for future is that people can handle the problems that may rise up in future.Young people should save their money because after an age they may not do works. The money which they save in their young time can be spent on their old period. Moreover, People can not know about their future. In future they may need financial support for their health, business or etc. For example, a person is making good amount of money in his business but suddenly he faces lose. If people cannot save their money they can not face the problems in future. As a result, they may need to ask help from others.
On the other hand, people should also think about their present. Young people should spend their income on their present life. After a period young people may not enjoy their life what they can be in their younger version. Young people should spend their money on exploring different cultures, built own home and family. However, spending lots of money on present time is not a wise decision. Everyone should think about their future too. One practical solution for this is everyone including young people can divide their money between present and future. They can spend half of their money now and save half of their money for future. It may help them to spend on their present life and saves for their future.
In conclusion, saving money for future is very important thing for everyone including young people. Nevertheless, people should maintain a balance between their present and future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support saving for the future while arguing that people should also enjoy the present. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including retirement, unexpected health or business costs, and the value of travel and family life. The business-loss example helps illustrate why savings matter. This meets the task well, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the suggestion to divide income equally is presented as a practical solution without considering that people’s needs and incomes differ. Develop one or two examples further and explain how they support your position to make the argument more consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on saving, a contrasting paragraph about present enjoyment, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the main stages easy to follow. The progression is generally logical, although some connections feel mechanical, and ideas within the second body paragraph could be ordered more clearly: the benefits of spending, the warning against overspending, and the half-and-half proposal arrive in quick succession. Some references, such as “It” in “It may help them,” are understandable but could be more precise. Use transitions selectively and connect each example or recommendation explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including “financial support,” “health,” “business,” “exploring different cultures,” and “maintain a balance.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “practical solution.” However, several noticeable word-choice and collocation problems make the expression less natural, including “secured future,” “problems that may rise up,” “faces lose,” and “ask help from others.” Some wording is repetitive, particularly repeated references to “future” and “money.” Build a wider set of natural collocations for saving, spending, and financial uncertainty, and check word forms and spelling. This would make your meaning more precise and fluent without changing the ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “but,” and “if.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the paragraph structure helps readers follow the argument. Some grammatical errors persist, however, particularly with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “spending money on present also an important thing,” “they may not do works,” and “can spend half of their money now and save half.” The sentence beginning “After a period” also has an unclear construction around “what they can be in their younger version.” Review article use and subject–verb agreement, and practise building complex sentences with clear clause relationships. More consistent accuracy would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
