Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you strongly agree that people should save, and you also acknowledge that life should be enjoyed. The response includes relevant points about unpredictable circumstances and retirement, so it addresses the topic rather than moving away from it. However, the reasons are mostly asserted rather than explained. For example, saying savings help “into every aspect of daily life” does not show how they help, and the reference to fixed deposits is not developed with a specific benefit or example. The counterpoint about enjoying life is also left unresolved. To strengthen the response, explain how saving supports future needs and clarify how this can be balanced with spending on present experiences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “First and foremost,” “In addition,” and “However” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph moves from saving to social accomplishment without explaining the connection, while the fixed-deposit paragraph is very brief and does not lead clearly into the counterargument. Some linking language is also mechanical, and references such as “this particular situation” are unclear. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain it in sequence, and use transitions only where they show a genuine relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “unpredictable,” “retired time,” “long-term benefits,” and “precious resource.” This shows an effort to discuss saving and future security, but the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “money,” “future,” and “life,” as well as several inaccurate or unnatural combinations. For instance, money does not become “increasingly popular,” and “contributes them into retired time” does not clearly express the intended benefit. Spelling and word-form problems in “deposite” and “Deposites” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise phrases such as “build financial security” and “save for retirement,” and check collocations and spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession beginning “Although” and a contrast introduced by “However.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Although, money is precious resource, it should be used wisely” has incorrect punctuation and is missing an article, while “a person should each and every moment” lacks a necessary verb. There are also problems with sentence boundaries, capitalization and agreement, as in “Either cash or bank balance are both beneficial.” Practise forming complete clauses, using articles and subject–verb agreement, and separating sentences with appropriate punctuation. Proofreading for these patterns would improve clarity.
