Student answer (Band 5.5)

We often see people doing different types of jobs and businesses to earn money, but the main question is how people manage it ? Some people saves it for their future needs while some people spends it according to their present needs. I strongly agree with the idea that money should be saved by everyone for the future requirments, including young individuals.

To begin with, most of the middle class families often earns enough capital to meet only their basic life necessities. They should need to save some money for the circumstances that might come in their upcomming life. For example, people usually get diagnose with some sort illness like cancer, brain tumor etc which is often expensive to treat so patients might get worse due to the lack of treatment process and families might experience tension, stress or anxiety if they struggles to arrange capital for their treatment.

Furthermore, young couples should have to save money for for their kids future need like they will have to fullfill their education need, their pocket money etc which might become difficult for parents to fullfill these things if they fails to save money on time.

However, people should have to spend money on their own because they have only one life so they should have to enjoy it along with their families while doing parties buysing some expensive stuffs like cars etc.

To sum up, i strongly support the idea to save money because it will have a strong and postive effect on the people personal lives in the futurtre.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that everyone, including young people, should save for the future. You give relevant reasons, especially the cost of serious illness and the future expenses of raising children, and the medical-treatment example helps illustrate why savings matter. However, the response addresses the issue only partly because the reasons are not fully explained or supported. The point about young couples and children is brief, while the paragraph about enjoying life introduces a counterpoint but does not explain how you balance present spending with saving. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a clearer explanation or specific example, and directly address why saving is important for young people as well as adults.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs supporting saving, a contrasting point about spending, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” help signal the stages of your argument. However, progression between ideas is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraph about enjoying life is not connected clearly to your overall position. Some sentences also contain several related points without clear separation, making the reasoning harder to follow. For example, the sentence about young couples combines children’s education, pocket money, and parents’ ability to save. Organise each paragraph around one main point, explain it in a logical sequence, and use referencing or transitions to show how the counterpoint fits your argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “future needs,” “basic life necessities,” “treatment,” and “stress or anxiety.” These choices make your main ideas understandable, and you attempt some topic-specific language about healthcare and family expenses. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “earn enough capital,” “treatment process,” and “fullfill their education need.” Spelling errors, including “requirments,” “upcomming,” and “postive,” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use more natural combinations and vary repeated words such as “money” and “save.” Proofreading spelling and checking whether words commonly occur together will make your argument clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “while,” and “if,” so there is some variety in your sentence forms. The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors occur frequently and sometimes make sentences difficult to process. Examples include “Some people saves” and “some people spends,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “they struggles” and “they fails,” which have the same issue. The sentence beginning “They should need to save” also combines modal forms incorrectly. Several long sentences would be clearer if divided into shorter units with accurate punctuation. Practise subject–verb agreement, modal constructions, and sentence boundaries, then check each sentence for a clear subject and main verb.
