Student answer (Band 6.5)

Some people hold the belief that everyone including young generation should make financial savings for their upcoming days. While others averse to it and do not consider it important,I personally believe that saving money plays a crucial role in everyone's life.

At the outset, the most plausible reason for my opinion is freedom gained by financial stability. Many people spend their money recklessly in their young age. This will lead to numerous problems in future, as they had to limit their wants due to the shortage of money. Thus, having proper financial planning and saving techniques would certainly support them in the long run. The further reason is building a habit of saving money would be beneficial for everyone, be it a child, teenager or an old person. For instance, a child recieve the pocket money and saves 20% of it every time. Eventually, when he will grow older, he can naturally have a habit of saving money. This will help him to purchase highly valuable things or it can also be used as investment.

Another benefit of saving money could be its usage in the emergency. People can save a little sum of money for any health issues or another emergencies,by keeping in mind the unpredictable nature of future. In such a way, proper savings can not only help them in future but also provides flexibility and stress free life.

To Conclude, Saving money is extremely crucial for each individual, including the youth, as it provide a sense of freedom, a beneficial habit as well as an ailment in the need. Consequenlty, I completely agree with this given statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you completely agree that saving is important for everyone, including young people. You address several relevant reasons—financial independence, developing a saving habit, and preparing for emergencies—and support them with an example of a child saving part of their pocket money. These points give the response a clear, relevant argument. However, some claims remain general: for example, the discussion of “freedom gained by financial stability” could explain more specifically how savings affect choices or reduce reliance on others. The investment point is also introduced but not developed. More detailed explanation of these ideas would make the support consistently stronger.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response is organised into a clear introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, with a logical progression from long-term financial planning to emergency savings. Linking expressions such as “At the outset,” “For instance,” and “To Conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. The example is placed appropriately after the point about building a habit. Some transitions, however, feel formulaic: “The further reason” and “Another benefit” announce points without showing their relationship in much detail. The conclusion also repeats the main reasons rather than drawing them together. Use a wider range of natural links and clearer references between ideas to make the progression smoother and less dependent on signposting phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financial stability,” “financial planning,” “investment,” and “unpredictable nature of future.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural word choices and collocations, such as “upcoming days,” “averse to it,” “usage in the emergency,” and “an ailment in the need.” “Highly valuable things” is also vague where a more precise term would strengthen the example. Spelling errors such as “recieve” and “Consequenlty” further reduce accuracy. Focus on common natural collocations and check spelling; this will make your vocabulary more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a conditional-style explanation (“This will lead to numerous problems in future”) and a relative clause (“as they had to limit their wants”). Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “a child recieve the pocket money and saves” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “when he will grow older” uses an unsuitable future form after “when.” In the conclusion, “as it provide” also needs agreement, and “not only help … but also provides” is not parallel. Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops are inconsistent. Review agreement, verb forms in time clauses, and parallel structures while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
