Student answer (Band 6.0)

Money is crucial in every aspect of life. It's careful use is compulsory in order to live a happier life. Some people believe that spending money on whatever you like is freedom and enjoyable because it gives a sense of pleasure. While other people are of the opinion that is should be spent wisely on relevant things and saving it for later use in future is beneficial especially in case of emergency.

Some people agree on the point that, saving excessive amount leads to constrained lifestyle in which privilege is limited and sufferings are unlimited. For example, some people spend their money on things they like to purchase, in order to fend of the stress in their lives. Some may feel more energetic and enthusiastic while giving charities or donations to different institutions, thereby, circulating the money in the relevant community rather than accumulating in one hand. As far as personal grooming is concerned, money tends to boosts the confidence and self-esteem, when spend on the perfect clothes, shoes, and accessories.

On the contrast, saving handsome amount of money is far more important than investing, as it acts as life-saver in alarming conditions like drought, floods, accidents and inflation as well. Governments should also introduce some policies to reduce the rate of loans and to promote the concept of money preservation in the bank. Every job holder should constrained his unnecessary needs and saves some portion of his salary to avoid future financial disturbance. In my opinion, the habit of saving money must be developed in children from the young age, equipping them with a life-saving toolkit.

At last, saving money rather than wasting it on some irrational things is a blessing. Everyone should learn some strategies to handle money in daily life as it is necessary to improve overall economic development of the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is broadly clear: you recognise the value of spending on enjoyment and giving, but ultimately argue that saving is important, particularly for emergencies and for young people. The examples of floods, accidents and inflation are relevant, and your recommendation that children learn saving habits addresses the prompt directly. However, the discussion gives more space to the benefits of spending than to why everyone, especially young people, should save. Some points are asserted rather than explained—for instance, the claim that saving is more important than investing is not developed or clearly connected to the question. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement explicitly in the introduction and develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, contrasting discussion, a paragraph focused on saving, and a concluding recommendation. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “On the contrast,” and “In my opinion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the progression is sometimes uneven: the second paragraph moves from spending to charity and personal grooming, while the next shifts to saving, investment and government policy without a clear transition between all these points. Some connections are also mechanical or unclear, and the conclusion repeats the general message rather than drawing together the main reasons. Organise the body around two or three central arguments, use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s purpose, and make references between ideas more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary and attempt some less common expressions, including “self-esteem,” “financial disturbance,” and “economic development.” These choices help you discuss both personal and wider financial effects. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural collocations that reduce precision, such as “saving excessive amount,” “fend of the stress,” and “saving handsome amount.” Some word choices also obscure the intended meaning, as in “privilege is limited and sufferings are unlimited.” Check spelling and word forms as well as collocation; for example, “fend off” is the correct spelling, while “save a substantial amount” is more natural. Prefer clear, accurate phrasing over elaborate expressions when the latter do not fit the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “While” and “as,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur. Examples include “It's careful use,” where the possessive form should be “Its,” “that is should be spent,” and “Every job holder should constrained his unnecessary needs and saves,” which has problems with verb forms and agreement. There are also errors in constructions such as “money tends to boosts” and “when spend on.” These issues show that complex ideas are being attempted, but control is not consistent. Review subject–verb agreement, infinitives after modal verbs, participles, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly formed clause.
