Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you strongly support saving, and the response gives relevant reasons involving retirement, healthcare, young people’s skills, and children’s education. The examples about treatment costs and computers help connect the argument to practical needs. This meets the task well overall, but the support is uneven: the point about young people learning skills is introduced without explaining how saving enables this, and the computer example focuses more on parents’ spending than on why everyone should save for their own future. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a clearer link to personal future security and explain the examples more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from later-life security to support for children, and linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening moves quickly from emergencies to a bank balance, while the relationship between young people’s savings and learning skills needs a clearer explanation. Several sentences also contain multiple ideas joined together, making the progression harder to follow. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain and illustrate it in a more deliberate sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “financially independent,” “basic necessities,” “prevalent,” and “personal and professional growth.” These choices show an attempt to use more precise and formal language. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, however, such as “significant asset of life,” “secure some part of income,” and “health situations.” “Bank balance” is also repeated where broader terms could make the discussion more flexible. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision. Aim to learn common word partnerships related to saving and financial security, and check whether each phrase sounds natural in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if they have enough with them” and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “therefore.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “This essay strongly agree” (subject–verb agreement), “emergency situation” (singular/plural form), and “they can bought” (verb form). Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: several sentences begin with lowercase letters, and commas sometimes join clauses that need clearer separation. Practise accurate verb forms, articles and agreement, then proofread for sentence starts and full stops. More consistent control would make your varied sentence attempts easier to follow.
