Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is widely argued that, people of all ages should save money for their future lives.I largely agree with the view because savings can help people to make their lives more financially stable and spend their lives with comfort when they are not able to work.

Firstly, young citizens should save the money to make future life more stable and happy. When adolescents save money for their future , they can concentrate more on the the other aspects of lives and can enhance overall status of lives. The saved money can helps them to maintain their lives stable ,when they have limited earning sources.Furthermore, the young citizens can start new businesses with saved amount which can help them to increase their earning , and will help to improve their life both socially and economically.

Secondly, the saved amount will be beneficial for old age individuals when they are out of enough earning sources. The saved amount will help them to be financially independent, and they can spend their lives with more ease and comfort. In addition to it,old age citizens can use their spending to explore the things which they have missed, when they not enough time in adult time.

For instance, from European Countries , old age tourists visit many asian countries because they have anough financial resources to accomplish their wishes.

To sum up,I strongly agree with the view, that money saving is advantageous to young individuals as it improves quality of life and gives them a way to focus more on other factors of lives, and young citizens can also spend lives with much better quality as compared to those who have not enough savings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction, where you say you “largely agree,” and the conclusion reinforces this view. You address both young people’s reasons to save and the benefits for older people, with relevant points about financial independence, starting a business, and enjoying travel in retirement. The European tourists example also supports the discussion, although it is brief and would be stronger with a clearer explanation of how saving enabled their travel. Some ideas are less fully developed: for example, the claim that savings let young people focus on “other aspects of lives” is vague, and the benefits of saving could be explained through more specific situations. More precise development and support would make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around young and older people, and a concluding summary. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up” make the progression easy to follow. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several sentences begin with repeated references to “the saved amount” or “young citizens.” Some links between ideas are also unclear; the move from financial stability to concentrating on other aspects of life needs a more explicit explanation. The example about European tourists is separated into its own short paragraph, so it would connect more smoothly if integrated into the paragraph about older people. Varying references and strengthening these links would improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financially independent,” “earning sources,” “socially and economically,” and “quality of life.” These choices show an attempt to discuss saving and its effects beyond basic terms. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “lives,” “saved amount,” and “young citizens,” while several collocations or word choices are inaccurate or unclear. For example, “spend their lives with comfort” and “use their spending to explore the things” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “enjoy a comfortable retirement” and “use their savings to travel” would be clearer. Spelling errors such as “anough” also reduce accuracy. More precise, natural combinations would strengthen this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “when,” “which,” and “because,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, errors occur across sentence structures, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For instance, “The saved money can helps them” should use “can help,” while “when they not enough time” is missing a verb and has an unclear structure. The opening also has an unnecessary comma after “argued,” and spacing after punctuation is inconsistent. These errors sometimes make sentences difficult to process, even though the overall meaning can usually be recovered. Review modal verb patterns, complete clause structure, and sentence punctuation, then proofread for agreement and missing words.
