Student answer (Band 5.5)

First of all, I totally agree with the given statement. In my opinion, it is crucial for everyone to save funds for their future.

Most of the people who live in the society usually work hard to earn money. As well as, they spend those money for various needs such as food and beverages, transportation, education and health related purposes. But, unfortunately, they probably aren't able to save money for their future.

Saving money means remaining some amount of money that earned by the people. There are certain ways that people can save their money for the future. One of them is depositing their money in a specific bank. The other one is buying lands or gold biscuits. Also, in the modern society, people can buy crypto currency such as bitcoins.

There are so many advantages of saving money. One of them is when people have to face a emergency condition like a severe health issue, they are able to find funds rapidly without any hesitation. Also, they can use their saving money for their everyday needs after they retire in the future. As a result, they can live a calm and peaceful lives without chasing for money. If people save money, they can spend them to travel somewhere also. In addition to that if they want to do higher education or improve their knowledge about their field, they can use the saved money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the opening: “I totally agree,” and the response gives relevant reasons, including financial protection during a health emergency, retirement needs, travel and further education. These examples show an understanding of why saving can matter. However, the reasons are mostly listed rather than explained or supported with a specific example, and the discussion does not fully explore why saving is important for young people in particular. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum, which limits the space available to develop your argument. To strengthen the response, explain how saving helps people meet future costs and add a concrete example, while maintaining your clear position throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: it states your view, discusses spending and ways to save, and then presents benefits. This makes the main line of thought understandable. However, progression between ideas is limited: the paragraph about saving methods is followed by a list of benefits without a developed link or concluding paragraph. Some connectors are awkward or repetitive, such as “Also” and “In addition to that,” while “As well as” does not connect the sentence correctly. Group related benefits and explain each in sequence, using linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship. A brief conclusion that restates your position would also give the essay a more complete shape.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “depositing,” “retire,” “health issue” and “higher education.” There are also attempts to use more specific terms, such as “crypto currency” and “severe.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “save funds,” “remaining some amount of money,” “buying lands” and “chasing for money.” “Gold biscuits” is also an unusual expression in this context. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but they make it less natural and precise. Aim to learn common combinations such as “set money aside,” “purchase land” and “cover living expenses,” and check spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use mostly straightforward sentence patterns and attempt some longer structures, for example, “when people have to face a emergency condition like a severe health issue, they are able to find funds rapidly.” The central meaning is generally clear, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction occur regularly. Examples include “those money,” “a emergency condition,” “a calm and peaceful lives,” and “the money that earned by the people,” where the noun forms or grammatical structure need correction. There is also a sentence fragment-like construction in “As well as, they spend…” because the opening phrase does not connect grammatically to the previous sentence. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “when” and “because.”
