Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support saving money for people of all ages, and you give relevant reasons about financial security and future goals. Examples such as unexpected medical costs and students saving for books or university fees help connect your ideas to the topic. However, the two main points are not developed equally: the first is briefly explained, while the second includes several examples but could explain more clearly how early saving helps young people reach these goals. The opening also refers to “some people” without clearly setting out a contrasting view, although the task asks for your own extent of agreement. The response is 4 words below the required minimum. Develop each reason more fully and make your degree of agreement explicit from the start.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, moving from an introduction to reasons and then a conclusion. The examples generally follow the points they support, so the reader can understand the intended argument. However, progression is weakened by mechanical and sometimes inaccurate linking, including “firstly” followed by “A further point to consider is that secondly.” The opening sentence also shifts between the claim and an opposing view without clearly organising them. Some ideas run together, particularly around “moreover,” and the conclusion is attached to the preceding discussion rather than clearly separated. Use one clear topic sentence for each body paragraph, remove redundant signposts, and use full stops and paragraph breaks to make the sequence of ideas easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “financial security,” “unexpected situation,” “emergencies,” and “manage their expenses.” These phrases show an appropriate attempt to discuss saving and future planning. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “ofter,” “assay,” “reasone,” “madical,” and “place of mind.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “achive their deams” and “according to their financial.” Repetition of “saving money” and “future” limits variety. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “peace of mind” and “financial circumstances” to express these ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If people have some saving, they can manage these problems” and a relative clause in “a student who saves a little money every month.” These attempts help explain cause and effect. However, control is uneven: errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries occur in examples such as “saving money help young people,” “some saving,” and the run-on opening sentence. The final sentence, “everyone should try to save according to their financial it can make…,” is incomplete and difficult to follow. Use shorter, complete sentences when needed, check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and punctuate each main idea clearly.
