Student answer (Band 5.5)

In my opinion as we can see the rising prices of the country economy and everthing getting expensive day by day. Everyone including the young generation should start saving money for their future.

I agree with the statement that everyone should start saving money especially the young people and generations. As we can see the educational sectors are rising the fees and not everyone can afford it, in this century, it is important for everyone to be educated.

However it is important to save money because anyone can face mental and health issues and nowadays the treatment costs expensive in the hospitals so one should be mentally prepared for the treatment whether its the family members or the friends.

Moreover, the food and eatable items are getting expensive and food is the basic need for everyone thrice in a day. one should have enough money saved so they have no problem buying the food items.

Meanwhile disagreeing with the fact that everyone including the young people should not save the money for the future because difficult time never tells and happens suddenly and one should be mentally prepared for it rather than asking for money from others or having a thought of stealing things etc. if you dont have enough money, you will think towards the negative things which may lead to a bad future.

Hence i agress with the fact that everyone should save their money for the futre in case of an emergency or any kinds of problems facing in the daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that people, including young people, should save, and you give relevant reasons involving education, healthcare and food costs. The final reference to emergencies also reinforces your view. This addresses the task, but some ideas are more fully explained than others. For example, rising education fees are linked to the importance of education, but you do not explain how savings would help young people meet those costs. The paragraph beginning “Meanwhile disagreeing” is also confusing because it appears to introduce disagreement, then supports saving. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and make sure any counterargument is clearly distinguished from your own position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an overall structure, moving from your opinion to supporting reasons and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally focus on separate topics, such as education, health and food, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Hence” help show relationships. However, progression is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraph beginning “Meanwhile disagreeing” disrupts the argument: its opening suggests opposition, while the rest supports saving. Some connections between sentences are also unclear, particularly the shift from treatment costs to preparing for family members or friends. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s purpose, and connect explanations more directly to the main claim. Clearer referencing and a more purposeful transition into the conclusion would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “educational sectors,” “treatment costs,” “basic need” and “emergency.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less precise. For instance, “the rising prices of the country economy” is unclear, and “food and eatable items” is repetitive. “The treatment costs expensive” also uses an unsuitable expression for describing healthcare costs. Spelling errors such as “everthing,” “agress” and “futre” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing inflation, education expenses and financial security, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “whether,” and your main message is generally understandable. However, some sentence structures are incomplete or inaccurately joined. The opening, “In my opinion as we can see…,” lacks clear punctuation and a complete structure, while “the treatment costs expensive” is missing a grammatical link between the subject and adjective. There are also errors in articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “one should have enough money saved so they have no problem” and the lowercase “one” after a full stop. Use shorter, complete sentences where needed, and check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation when combining ideas.
