Student answer (Band 6.5)
In my perspective, the habit of saving money is really important, even in young people as it can be extremely valuable in their future in case of any emergency. I completely agree with this idea because people can spend the money for travelling purpose and it can develop the sense of responsibility among the young generation.
First of all, people often keep aside an amount, either fixed or random, from their income so that they can use this money in case if there is emergency situation. It is a common scenerio in our society that suddenly people are in need of a hefty amount of money, for instance, treatment or medical purpose. This is the time where the emergency fund can be greately beneficial. Furthermore, people who likes to travel can save money for a certain period and use it to meet their cost of travel. People do not need to redeem their fixed amount kept in their bank accounts before maturity due to their habit of saving money.
Secondly, when the young people start saving from money irrespective of any fixed or large amount, the habit helps them to become a responsible person in future. From an early age, they learn the important lesson of money management and how to keep aside a share of their income for different purposes. For example, high school students who save a share from their pocket money can purchase a thing which they might wanted to buy for a long time.
To conclude, saving money for future reference is an essential for both the elders and young people. It not only helps in any specific or urgent need like travel and medical emerygency, but also helps to make a person responsible by teaching them how to handle expenditures in sensible ways.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that saving is important, and the conclusion restates this view. You address the topic with relevant reasons, including preparing for medical emergencies, funding travel, and developing responsibility through money management. The examples of treatment costs and students saving pocket money help support your points. This is a well-focused response with ideas extended and supported. However, the travel point is less directly connected to the importance of saving for everyone’s future, and the claim that saving prevents people from needing to access fixed deposits is not fully explained. Developing this link and adding a more specific example of a young person’s longer-term financial goal would make the argument more consistently persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from emergency and travel savings to the responsibility developed by young savers is easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “First of all,” “Furthermore,” and “Secondly” help signal the stages of the argument, while “For example” introduces supporting detail. Cohesion is generally effective, though the repeated use of explicit sequencing words makes some transitions feel formulaic. The relationship between the travel example and the point about fixed deposits is also not fully clear. Use a wider range of links that show cause, contrast, or consequence, and make references between sentences more precise to create smoother connections.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “emergency fund,” “money management,” “income,” and “expenditures,” which allows you to discuss the issue clearly. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “a hefty amount of money” and “before maturity.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “save money from money,” “travelling purpose,” and “an essential” do not sound natural in context. Spelling errors such as “scenerio,” “greately,” and “emerygency” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling carefully; more precise phrasing would make your ideas sound more fluent and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because people can spend the money…” and a relative clause in “which they might wanted to buy.” Most sentences remain understandable, and the overall meaning is rarely impeded. Some grammatical errors persist, however. For example, “people who likes” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “in case if there is emergency situation” has an awkward conditional construction and is missing an article. In “which they might wanted to buy,” the modal should be followed by the base form of the verb. Review agreement, articles, and verb patterns after modal verbs, and proofread longer sentences to improve accuracy while retaining your range of structures.
