Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify both chart types and report several relevant figures, including the 48% share for private studios and the approximate participation figures for tap. However, the response only partially covers the data: the bar-chart discussion is cut off at “Ballet are more famous in teens a,” and the modern-dance figures and comparison are not reported. There are also factual or interpretive errors: school halls are not the least popular location (college-based studios are, at 10%), and tap participation is not the same in both groups (about 450 versus 420). The overview attempts to identify key patterns, but some claims are unclear or inaccurate. The response is 147 words, three words below the required minimum; complete the comparisons and ensure the response reaches 150 words.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph beginning “Firstly” to report figures. This gives the reader some sense of how the response is organised. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph stops mid-sentence, leaving the ballet comparison unfinished and the modern figures unaddressed. Connections between ideas are also sometimes unclear: “Tap dance shows the same account by age group” is followed by figures that are different, and the overview moves abruptly between location and dance types. Use separate, complete paragraphs for the location chart and age-group comparisons, and link each comparison explicitly with terms such as “whereas” or “by contrast.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant chart vocabulary such as “private studios,” “college-based studios,” “age group,” and “take part,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts to vary descriptions of popularity. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “private studies” for “private studios,” “least famous” for a location’s share, and “shows interest in” when describing the number of students. “Tap dance shows the same account” is also an unclear collocation. These choices sometimes make the intended comparison harder to understand. Prefer precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “attracted,” and “participation,” and use the chart’s category names consistently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes simple statements and some attempts to combine information, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors are frequent enough to affect clarity. Examples include “the ballet is most popular among children under the age of 11,” where an article is needed before “most popular,” and “Tap dance is remain same,” which has an incorrect verb construction. In “Ballet are more famous in teens,” the subject and verb do not agree, and the sentence is incomplete. The overview also contains a fragment-like construction after “school halls.” Practise complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and check each sentence for a clear main clause before adding comparisons.
