Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both charts and give an overview, identifying private studios as the largest location share and contrasting ballet among younger children with modern among older students. Several figures are reported accurately, including 48%, 24%, 18% and 10%, and the approximate student totals are generally recognisable. However, the overview is not fully reliable: the older group’s strongest preference is modern, but the younger group’s highest figure is ballet, while tap is similar across the groups. In the detail, the modern figures are reversed: under-11s are about 300 and 11–16-year-olds about 520, not the other way around. Clarify these comparisons and develop the main patterns more consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of the location and dance-type charts. This gives the reader a basic progression, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal shifts. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some movement towards more flexible cohesion. However, some links are awkward or do not express the relationship clearly; for example, “Whereas” introduces a fragment, and “other group half of previous section” is difficult to follow. Use complete comparison sentences and refer explicitly to “the younger group” and “the older group” so the reader can track each figure without guessing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “private studios,” “age group,” “ballet,” and “portion,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. “Private places practice” does not naturally describe where classes are held, while “marriage hall room” appears to mean community halls. Phrases such as “shown courage” and “members of students” are also unsuitable for reporting chart data. Spelling errors, including “auditorioum,” further reduce precision. Build a reliable set of chart-reporting expressions and use them accurately—for example, “classes are held,” “account for,” and “the number of students.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “While” and a time-related clause beginning “When it comes to.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. The opening has subject–verb agreement and article problems (“The pie chart depict”), while “While under 11 age group interested at ballet dance” lacks a complete clause. There are also problems with plural and sentence structure in “in both age group are likely to shown interest.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and verb forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your comparisons much easier to follow.
