Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both charts and made relevant comparisons. You clearly highlighted the dominance of private studios and contrasted the preferences of the two age groups. However, the report lacks a clear overview of the data trends; while you mention some figures, the analysis could be more precise. For instance, stating 'two huge difference' is vague. To improve, ensure you group data logically and provide a more comprehensive summary of the key trends rather than just listing individual data points. The response covers all parts of the task well, but the lack of a more sophisticated synthesis of the data prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'whereas' and 'in the same manner' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. For example, 'Now looking at the pie chart' is a bit informal for an academic report. Additionally, the paragraphing could be improved by separating the overview more distinctly from the detailed body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the progression of ideas between sentences is smoother and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'dominates', 'preference', and 'scenario'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'dance practise' (practice), 'lest liked' (least liked), and '11 - 16 aged group'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and ensure you are using the correct form of words (e.g., nouns vs. adjectives). Expanding your range of descriptive verbs and adverbs would also help you achieve a more sophisticated tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a good start. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('private studios dominates') and incorrect preposition usage ('in classes'). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as the inconsistent use of hyphens in age ranges. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing articles or prepositions.
