Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the prompt by summarizing the provided charts. However, the analysis is significantly hindered by inaccurate reporting of data and unclear comparisons. For instance, the claim that '350 number of students' participated in Tap is not supported by the visual data, and the comparisons between 'teenagers' and 'children' are vague and confusing. The overview is also problematic, as it fails to clearly highlight the main trends or significant differences between the categories. To improve, you must focus on accurately extracting data points and identifying clear, overarching trends rather than listing numbers in a disjointed manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The transition between the two charts is abrupt, and the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'After that' and 'On the other hand', which do not logically connect the ideas. Furthermore, the referencing is unclear; for example, the phrase 'the other children of the town' is ambiguous. The conclusion does not effectively synthesize the information but rather repeats a point about private studios in a grammatically confusing way. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence follows logically from the previous one is essential.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic structures and struggle with precise terminology related to data description. Phrases like 'relatively increased' and 'number of students join' are imprecise and unnatural. There are also issues with word choice, such as using 'choreographic training' instead of more standard terms like 'dance styles'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'accounted for', 'predominated', or 'a significant proportion', and ensure that your collocations are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The pie chart illustrate'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'the dance class of the students whose training system is Private studios is 48%'). The use of complex sentences is limited and often results in errors. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic accuracy and sentence structure will be beneficial.
