Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the charts, identifying the primary locations and dance types. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial and lacks a clear, analytical overview. While you mention the percentages for locations, the comparison between age groups and dance types is slightly confusing, particularly in the final paragraph where the data interpretation becomes unclear. To improve, ensure that the overview highlights the most significant trends rather than just listing data points. Additionally, ensure that all comparisons are accurate and clearly linked to the provided charts to avoid ambiguity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Apart from it' and 'At last'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the logical progression within paragraphs is hindered by awkward phrasing. For instance, the jump between location data and dance types lacks a smooth transition. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'in contrast', 'consequently') would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'large number of dance classes' and 'use to join'. There are also instances of awkward word choices, such as 'very less of the classes organiser', which impede clarity. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to data description, such as 'predominant', 'account for', 'a significant proportion', and 'the majority'. Focus on using words that accurately describe trends and proportions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('this charts show', 'classes organiser to attend') and incorrect verb tenses or structures ('they use to learn', 'the children age under 11'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these errors are persistent and distract from the content. You should focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or passive voice, while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
