Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both charts and provided relevant comparisons. You covered the location data from the pie chart and the age-related trends from the bar chart. However, the analysis could be improved by including more specific data points for the 'tap' dance category in the bar chart, which you omitted entirely. Additionally, the overview is slightly repetitive, as it restates information already provided in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that your overview synthesises the data rather than just listing the highest and lowest figures again. Overall, you have addressed the requirements of the task well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a summary. You used some cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Meanwhile', and 'Turning to', which help the reader follow your argument. However, the transition between the two charts could be smoother. Some of the referencing is slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing is functional but could be more sophisticated. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus that flows naturally into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your meaning clearly, using terms like 'illustrates', 'represented', 'proportion', and 'participants'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'kind of dance classes' (should be 'types') and 'theses classes' (spelling error). You also used 'common' when 'most popular' or 'predominant' would be more precise. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more varied and precise academic vocabulary to describe trends and proportions, and ensure you proofread for small spelling slips.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'across two age group' (should be 'groups'), 'compare with' (should be 'compared to'), and 'among children 11' (missing 'under'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit your score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your comparative structures are grammatically consistent. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you move into the higher band range.
