Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified the main features of the charts, the analysis is somewhat superficial. You have included some data points, but the comparison between the two charts is limited. To improve, ensure you provide a more detailed overview and support your points with more precise data. The under-length nature of the response means that some parts of the task are not fully developed, preventing a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You have used some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the final paragraph where the description of the data is confusing. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'currently pursuing by adolescent' and 'take care by community hall'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with accurate collocations. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'accounted for', 'represented', or 'fluctuated', and work on using more natural word combinations to express your ideas clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Ballet and modern dances has', 'they stands') and passive voice construction ('is take care by'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the flow of the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct formation of passive voice, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
