The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The charts describes the location of dance classes and their types by age group in a town in Australia.

Location of dance classes shows that majority are private studios with 48% share, followed by school halls with almost a quarter of total at 24%. Community halls & other comprises an 18% share while the least college based studios contributes at 10% of all.

The types of dance classes demonstrate a sharp visible contrast between two dance forms namely Ballet and Modern with respect to their participation age groups. Ballet is most popular overall as well as among age group under 11 with around 600 participations and 300 participations between age 11 to 16. On the other hand Modern is the second most popular type of dance with more than 500 participants being from age group 11 to 16 and almost 300 participants below age 11. Tap is more evenly distributed amongst both age groups with their number of participants being just above 400 for each.
