The charts illustrate the information regarding the location and types of dance classes(Ballet, Tap, Modern) which are currently attended by young people of a town in Australia.

Overall, it is evident that the most location is occupied by the private studios and the least by the college-based studios in the bar chart while the number of the younger students group are increasing from Modern to Ballet type as compatred to the young group which is showing totally opposite behaviour in the table.

Furthermore, the bar chart indicates that the private studios are representing almost 48% of the total which is more than 24% shown by the school halls. Similarly, the community halls and other constituting approximately 18% that is more than 10% representation by the college-based studios.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing both the bar chart and the table. You successfully identified the main features, such as the dominance of private studios and the contrasting trends between age groups. However, the analysis is slightly hindered by some inaccurate phrasing, such as 'the most location is occupied by the private studios,' which is grammatically awkward and unclear. While you have made relevant comparisons, the description of the data in the table could be more precise to ensure the reader fully understands the trends. Overall, the response is relevant and addresses the requirements of the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore,' 'Similarly,' and 'In addition to this' to link ideas. However, some of the transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing in the second paragraph is occasionally confusing, particularly when discussing the percentages. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow could be improved by using more varied linking phrases and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more tightly constructed to avoid minor lapses in coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrate,' 'participating,' and 'declining trend.' However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the most location is occupied' and 'younger students group.' These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate. Spelling is generally accurate, though 'stuidents' is a minor slip.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'the number of the younger students group are increasing' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'as compatred to the young group which is showing totally opposite behaviour.' These errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of comparative structures to ensure your sentences are more polished and error-free.
