Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all key features of the charts, including the location of classes and the breakdown of dance types. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the popularity of private studios and the dominance of ballet. However, the analysis could be improved by ensuring data accuracy; for instance, you mention 'almost 600 students' for ballet, but the chart shows 600 for the under-11 group specifically. Additionally, the comparison between age groups is slightly confusing in the final paragraph. To reach a higher band, ensure that all figures are cited precisely and that comparisons between categories are clearly distinguished.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'In detail', 'In stark contrast', and 'Delving deeper' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between age groups and dance forms could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and there is a clear progression of ideas throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'breakup', 'witness', and 'significant growth'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'public available community halls' (should be 'publicly available') and 'loves to attend' (which is slightly informal for an academic report). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the phrasing is sometimes repetitive. Increasing your use of precise collocations related to data description would help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('only 10% children tends to attend' should be 'tend to attend') and article usage ('the most significant growth in attendance, almost 600 students'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions when describing statistical data.
