The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two graph illustrates the location of dance classes and types of dance classes attended by young children in a town of Australia.
Overall, private studios account for the largest proportion of dance classes, while college-based studios represent the smallest share. In terms of dance styles, ballet was the most popular choice among the children under 11, whereas modern dance was preferred by those aged 11-16.
Regarding locations, privates studios account for 48% of the distribution. School halls represent 24%, followed by the community halls and other at 18%. College-based studios hold the least proportion, accounted for only 10%.
On the other hand, as for dance styles. Ballet dance was attended by almost 600 children of under 11 years, which is twice the figure for the 11-16 age group. Tap was preferred by approximately 450 children if under 11 compared with 410 children of the 11-16 age group. Nevertheless, modern dance was more common among the 11-16 age group, chosen by 510 students, whereas only 300 children of under 11 attended the same.
