Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the location and types of dance classes. You successfully identified the main features, such as private studios being the most popular location and the age-based preferences for dance styles. However, the report could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the two age groups rather than listing data for each separately. For example, noting that while Ballet is the most popular for the younger group, it is surpassed by Modern dance in the older group would provide a more analytical overview. The data is generally accurate, though some figures could be presented more clearly to enhance the summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on location and type respectively. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'on the contrary', and 'moreover', although some are used slightly mechanically or with minor errors (e.g., 'additially', 'on th eother hand'). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. Referencing is mostly clear, though the structure of some sentences makes the connection between the data points slightly repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accounted for', 'utilized', and 'preferred'. However, there are several spelling errors ('additially', 'preffered', 'collage', 'anounts', 'appoximatly') and minor word-choice issues ('highest ration', 'preferred average'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and using more precise collocations when describing data trends, such as 'the most popular choice' instead of 'maximum number of dance classes'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement ('dance classes are held', but 'Ballet dance remain favorite') and article usage ('the age group of 11-16 years'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and capitalization. While you attempt to use complex structures, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent sentence structure will help improve your accuracy.
