Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of both charts. You successfully highlight the dominance of private studios and the age-related preferences for dance types. However, the analysis could be improved by ensuring the data is presented more accurately. For instance, you mention 'every young individual has similarly interest' for tap, but the data shows distinct differences between age groups. Additionally, the comparison of the 'least chosen' categories is slightly confusing as you describe them as 'almost similar' when the figures are distinct. To reach a higher band, ensure that data points are reported with greater precision and that comparisons are clearly linked to the specific groups mentioned in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction followed by separate sections for the location and the dance types. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'However', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For example, the sentence 'The location of dance classes in a town of Australia has four categories among all the private studios has the largest proportion' is grammatically clunky and disrupts the logical progression. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'categories', and 'depicts'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that limit the score. Phrases like 'least wanted location' and 'every young individuals has similarly interest' are not natural in an academic context. Additionally, there is some repetition of basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your word forms are correct (e.g., 'similar interest' instead of 'similarly interest'). Expanding your range of descriptive verbs and nouns will help you achieve a more sophisticated tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'The highest chosen categories of dance classes was the ballet' contains a subject-verb agreement error. You also have issues with article usage ('in a town of Australia' instead of 'in a town in Australia') and pluralisation ('every young individuals'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
