Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response successfully identifies the main features of both charts. You have provided a clear overview and supported the key trends with relevant data points. However, the description of the bar chart is slightly confusing in the final paragraph. You mention 'the number of students... in a ballet and with the age of 11-16 in a modern class experienced around 300 students,' which is unclear as it conflates two different categories. To improve, ensure that each data point is clearly linked to its specific category and age group without ambiguity. Overall, the task is well-addressed with a good selection of data.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Regarding,' 'Turning to,' and 'Meanwhile' to guide the reader through the information. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two different charts. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, although the final sentence of the last paragraph is slightly disjointed due to the unclear grouping of data. Overall, the structure is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, using terms like 'proportion,' 'constituted,' 'prominent,' and 'witnessed.' There are some minor issues with collocation, such as 'a ballet dance class' (simply 'ballet' is more natural) and 'reached to' (the verb 'reach' does not take a preposition). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, incorporating more precise academic collocations would elevate the score. The range is sufficient to allow for some flexibility in reporting the data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as the unnecessary use of articles ('a ballet,' 'a tap') and minor errors like 'reached to approximately 450' (should be 'reached approximately 450'). Additionally, there is a capitalization error in the overview ('Overall, It is...'). Despite these errors, the meaning is always clear, and the mistakes do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on refining article usage and ensuring subject-verb agreement in more complex sentences.
