Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided relevant comparisons. You covered both the location data and the age-related dance types. However, the response could be improved by better grouping of information. For instance, the transition between the pie chart and the table is a bit abrupt. While you highlight the highest figures, such as the 48% for private studios and the 600 students in ballet, you could strengthen the response by providing more analytical comparisons between the categories rather than just listing the data points. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is logically organized, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices like 'In terms of', 'Moreover', and 'In contrary' (though 'In contrast' would be more accurate). However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraphing is slightly underdeveloped. The overview is clear, but the transition into the specific data points could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the structure of the final paragraph feels a bit like a list of facts rather than a cohesive analysis of the trends.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'preferred', and 'significant'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'majority number of students' (should be 'majority of students') and 'they grow up to 11-16 age' (should be 'as they reach the 11-16 age group'). There is also a slight repetition of the phrase 'dance classes'. To reach a higher band, try to vary your vocabulary further and ensure that collocations are natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'illustrate information different places' (missing a preposition), 'when they became 11-16 age' (awkward phrasing), and 'which was 48% and 24% percent respectively of total proportion' (needs an article). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles to ensure your sentences are more polished and error-free.
