Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified and reported the main features of the data, providing a clear overview and supporting details. You effectively compared the age groups and the popularity of different venues. The information is accurate and well-selected. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are clearly linked to the specific charts provided. For instance, while you mention '10%' for college-based studios, ensure the distinction between the two charts remains clear throughout. Overall, you have covered all parts of the task well, providing a logical summary that highlights the key trends without unnecessary detail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Conversely,' and 'In terms of' to guide the reader through the information. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two distinct datasets (locations and dance styles). The progression of ideas is smooth and easy to follow. To improve, ensure that punctuation around cohesive devices is precise, as there are minor issues with comma placement (e.g., '24%,which'). Overall, the structure is coherent and the flow of information is well-managed.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information with precision, using terms like 'dominant choice,' 'stark contrast,' and 'balanced distribution.' There are some minor errors in word choice and phrasing, such as 'location's' (should be 'locations') and 'take take' (repetition). While you use some less common items effectively, avoiding these small slips and refining your collocations would help you reach a higher band. The vocabulary is generally appropriate for an academic report and allows for clear communication of the data trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'old teenagers shows' (subject-verb agreement error: 'teenagers show') and 'location's' (incorrect apostrophe usage). Additionally, there are minor punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the text. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor mechanical errors. The majority of your sentences are clear and demonstrate a good level of control over complex structures.
