Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response identifies the main features of the charts, such as the popularity of private studios and the age-related trends in dance styles. However, the reporting of data is inconsistent and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the description of the bar chart is confusing, with contradictory figures provided for the 'under 11' age group. The summary lacks a clear overview of the relationship between age and dance type, and the data selection is somewhat disorganized. To improve, ensure that all figures cited are accurate and that the comparison between categories is logical and easy to follow.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inappropriate, such as the use of 'Eventually' to introduce data or 'In case of' to start a paragraph. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and unclear referencing. While there is a basic logical flow, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence structures make the text feel disjointed. Improving the variety of transition signals would significantly enhance the readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'maximum', 'people', and 'classes'. There are several instances of inappropriate word choice, such as 'electors' to describe people in a town, and 'youthful people' instead of 'young people'. Some phrases are unnatural, such as 'on the spot' and 'lowest aged group of individual'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description (e.g., 'proportion', 'age bracket', 'predominant') and avoid using words that do not fit the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the maximum people are', 'individual people take part'), article usage, and pluralization. Some sentences are grammatically confusing, such as 'In ballet, people 600 student appear in under 11 and 300 in 116 age group.' These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the data. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent verb forms would help improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
