Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified and reported the main features of both charts. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data from the diagrams. The comparison between the age groups and the different locations is well-handled. To reach a higher band, ensure that you avoid minor inaccuracies in data reporting; for example, you stated 'approximately a half' for private studios, but the chart shows 48%, which is accurate, yet your description of 'around the quarter' for school halls (24%) is also good. The response is well-structured and covers all parts of the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on the two different charts. You use cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Looking at the details', and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more refined to ensure a smoother flow between the data points. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be more tightly linked to improve the overall cohesion of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. You use terms like 'significant proportion', 'moderately attended', and 'less common' appropriately. However, there is a reliance on repetitive phrasing, such as 'type of dance' and 'number of people', which limits the sophistication of your writing. To improve, try to vary your vocabulary by using synonyms or more precise collocations. There are no significant spelling errors, and the vocabulary used is adequate for the task requirements.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'in a present time' (should be 'at present'), 'large number of students who are under11, attending' (a fragment), and '300 number of people' (redundant). These errors do not impede communication, but they do prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Increasing the variety of complex structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement would enhance your score in this criterion.
