The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The chart depicts the Location and type of dance classes followed by Young people in a town in Australia. There are two charts as a pie chart which depicts information based on the location and the Bar chart which depicts information based on Type of Dance. The key is given for the Bar charts as Dark shade for 11 to 16 age group and Light shade for Under 11 age group.

In the Pie chart, based on location Largest potion is Private Studios which is 48% and the lowest potion is 10% which is occupied by the College based studios. The second largest potion is School Halls which has take 24% of the Locations and the Third potion goes to Community halls and Others which is only 18% of the potion.

In the bar chart, the information is depicted on the number of students against Type of dance. According to the given key the highest position goes to ballet and Modern dance type as Under 11 and 11 to 16 age group respectively. The lowest position is a tie which goes to ballet in 11 to 16 age group and Modern in under 11 age group.
