The charts depicts information about the places as well as the types of dances taught to young people categorized by their age.

Regarding the location, maximum dance classes are organized in private studios, accounting for 48% proportion. Other places such as School and Community halls are also used for the same purpose, but in lower figures of 24% and 18% respectively. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response effectively identifies and reports the main features of both charts. You have successfully selected key data points, such as the dominance of private studios and the age-related trends in dance styles. The comparisons are clear, particularly regarding the age groups for Ballet and Modern dance. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data is presented with complete accuracy; for instance, you mentioned '11 and above 11' for Tap, but the chart categories are 'under 11' and '11-16'. Refining these specific details will ensure your summary is fully accurate and well-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs focusing on distinct categories (location and dance type), and a summary overview. The use of cohesive devices like 'Regarding the', 'In comparison', and 'Overall' helps guide the reader through the information. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two distinct charts. To improve, ensure that referencing is always precise; for example, ensure that the transition between sentences flows naturally without relying on repetitive structures at the start of each paragraph.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, such as 'categorized', 'proportion', 'participants', and 'recognized'. The terminology is appropriate for an Academic Task 1 report. There are some minor issues with collocation and word choice, such as 'least used placed' (should be 'least used place') and 'considerable difference number' (should be 'considerable difference in the number'). Expanding your range of synonyms for 'popular' or 'preferred' would further enhance the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'The charts depicts' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'Modern dance form being more recognized' (fragmented structure). Additionally, 'age of a11' contains a typo. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
