Student answer (Band 5.5)
The cursive pie chart and bar graph depicts the information about the proportion of dance classes in terms of place or types are attending by the youth of Australia at present. The data can be calibrated in percentage.
Having a brief look at the chart it is evident that the majority of students take classes from private studios as represented by 48%. There is a difference of 6% between the youngsters who attend classes at school halls and community halls. In addition, only 10% of the scholars learn dancing in college-based studios.
moving towards the bar graph, Ballet dance top the list as 600 individuals under the age 11 join this classes whereas Tap learning students are not quite as far as Modern dance. Nevertheless, Tap dance learners are less than Modern dance students between the age group 11-16 and the other dance class contributes the least in it.
To sum up, It has been vividly manifested that maximum number of folks who is under 11 prefer Ballet classes and that too in the private studios while the minimum lean towards college based studios between the age group 11-16.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of both charts, identifying the most popular locations and dance types. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention the 48% for private studios, you do not effectively contrast this with the other categories to highlight the 'main features' as required. The description of the bar graph is slightly confusing; you mention '600 individuals' but do not clarify if this is a total or a specific age group, and the comparison between age groups (under 11 vs 11-16) is not fully developed. To improve, ensure you provide a clear overview and use data to support comparisons more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'moving towards', and 'To sum up'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'moving towards the bar graph'. The referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, 'the other dance class contributes the least in it' is vague. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to achieve a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some repetitive or slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'cursive pie chart' (which is incorrect terminology) and 'folks' (which is too informal for an Academic Task 1). There are also some word choice issues, such as 'calibrated in percentage' and 'Tap learning students'. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'distribution', or 'predominant'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Ballet dance top the list', 'maximum number of folks who is'), and awkward phrasing ('join this classes'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are minor errors in sentence construction. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic agreement and pluralization errors.
