Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of both charts. You successfully highlighted the preference for private studios and contrasted the age-group dance preferences. However, the analysis is slightly hindered by some inaccuracies in data reporting. For instance, you mention '6% more' when comparing school halls to community halls, but the calculation is not clearly derived from the provided percentages. Additionally, the overview is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more precise and that the overview provides a more comprehensive summary of the trends rather than just listing specific data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on location and dance types respectively. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Apart of this', and 'Starting with', which help the flow. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or unnatural, such as 'Initiated with location' and 'Let’s move to'. The referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in a more sophisticated manner would enhance the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'inclined towards', 'preference', and 'recorded as'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'importance about the students preferences' (should be 'preferences of students') and 'Apart of this' (should be 'Apart from this'). The phrase 'in the caee of' contains a typo. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'under 11 age group students has' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'this ratio is 6% more'. Additionally, there are issues with articles and prepositions, such as 'in their private studios' (when referring to the general category). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
