Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of both charts and provided relevant comparisons. You clearly highlighted the dominance of private studios and the age-related trends in dance styles. However, the report could be improved by ensuring all data points are accurate; for instance, you mentioned 'tenth' for college-based studios, but the chart shows 10%, which is accurate, yet the phrasing is slightly awkward. Additionally, ensure that all comparisons are precise. You have covered all parts of the task well, providing a clear overview and supporting details, which meets the requirements for a solid band 7.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'In terms of', 'followed by', and 'In contrast' to guide the reader. However, there are some minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the phrase 'this is oposite in modern dance' which lacks a clear antecedent. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the location data from the age distribution data. The progression of ideas is generally clear, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'demographic distribution', 'participate', and 'in contrast'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'virous' (various) and 'oposite' (opposite), and minor word choice issues like 'mostly join' instead of 'mostly participate in'. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the occasional inaccuracies prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on more precise collocations and ensure spelling is checked, as these errors slightly detract from the professional tone of the report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The pie chart provide', 'this numbers are') and missing articles ('represent only tenth'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. You have attempted some complex structures, but the frequency of minor errors in basic grammar prevents a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly enhance the accuracy of your writing.
