Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. Furthermore, the response is incomplete, as it cuts off mid-sentence at the end. While you have identified some main features, such as the popularity of private studios and the age-based preferences for dance styles, the analysis is truncated. To reach a higher band, you must complete the summary, ensure all data points are fully reported, and meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a full development of the information provided in the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the final paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In terms of' and 'Regarding', but the overall flow is hindered by the abrupt ending. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that the conclusion provides a coherent summary of the data. The use of linking words is generally functional, but more variety would help the text flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
There is an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'miscellaneous', 'utilized', and 'participant'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, including 'clasees', 'younge', 'perticuler', 'australia', 'Privatre', and 'preffered'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and ensure that your word choices are precise. Expanding your range of vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms for 'popular' or 'highest' would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'The pie chart and bar chart illustrates' (subject-verb agreement), 'Private studio are far popular venue' (pluralization and article usage), and 'Which is the double of the older teena' (fragmented sentence). These errors occasionally impede the clarity of the message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that all sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
