Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of both the pie chart and the table. You successfully highlight the most popular location (private studios) and contrast the preferences of the two age groups. However, the report could be improved by better integrating the data. For instance, while you mention the numbers for dance types, the comparison between the two age groups could be more analytical rather than just listing figures. The overview is clear, but ensure that all data points are accurate; for example, ensure the distinction between 'under 11' and '11-16' is consistently maintained to avoid confusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs focusing on location and dance types respectively. You use some cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'whereas', and 'taking... into consideration' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between the data and the commentary could be more fluid to improve the overall progression of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'favorable', 'preference', and 'tabular data'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'most ones' instead of 'most people' or 'most popular choice'. You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, but there is a tendency to repeat basic structures. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing when describing trends or data points.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'The Combination of pie-chart depicts' (missing article), 'it can comprehensively observed' (missing 'be'), and 'most favorite place for most ones'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve your score.
