Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of both charts and provided relevant comparisons. The overview is clear, and you have selected key data points to support your summary. However, the response could be improved by ensuring all data points are described with greater precision. For instance, when discussing the bar chart, you mention 'over 600' and 'approximately 300', but you could more effectively contrast the age groups across all dance types to provide a more comprehensive overview. The task is addressed well, but the analysis remains somewhat descriptive rather than fully analytical.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on the separate charts. You use cohesive devices such as 'whereas', 'regarding', and 'in contrast' to link ideas. However, the transition between the two body paragraphs is slightly abrupt. To reach a higher band, ensure that the connection between the two charts is more explicitly stated, perhaps by using a more sophisticated linking phrase to bridge the shift from location to dance type.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accounted for', 'recorded', and 'participated in'. There are no significant spelling errors, and the vocabulary is generally appropriate for an academic report. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations or synonyms to avoid repetition of the word 'students' and 'classes'. Using more varied reporting verbs or descriptive adjectives would help elevate the lexical sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as '48% of classes were held in private studios which was the highest in that category'. While the meaning is clear, there are some minor grammatical slips, such as 'private studios were most common location' (missing an article) and 'children between 11-16 years were approximately 300 students' (which is slightly awkward phrasing). The majority of your sentences are error-free, and your punctuation is generally accurate, which supports clear communication.
