Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the location and types of dance classes. You successfully identified the main features, such as the popularity of private studios and the age-related trends in dance types. However, the analysis is somewhat descriptive rather than analytical. For instance, you list percentages without always making clear comparisons between the categories. To improve, ensure you group data more effectively to highlight trends rather than just listing figures. The overview is present, but it could be more integrated into the body paragraphs to provide a more cohesive summary of the data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'however', 'after that', and 'on the other hand'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'after that, community halls and other location of dance classes'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through the data comparison.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'proportion', 'participated', and 'category'. However, there are several word choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'varities' instead of 'varieties', 'famous' used incorrectly to mean 'popular', and 'aging' instead of 'aged'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using collocations correctly (e.g., 'popular choice' rather than 'famous ratio') and proofread carefully to eliminate basic spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'only 10% youngsters take admission' (missing preposition/article) and subject-verb agreement issues like 'ballet dance were' and 'modern dance were'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with grammatical precision.
