Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the task but fails to accurately interpret the data. The student misinterprets the bar chart, describing percentage increases (e.g., '510% increase') that are not supported by the provided data, which shows absolute numbers of students. Furthermore, the description of the pie chart is confusing and lacks a clear overview of the main trends. The response struggles to select and report the main features effectively, leading to a failure to provide a clear summary of the information presented in the charts. To improve, focus on accurately reading the axes and labels of the charts before writing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The transition between the pie chart and the bar chart is abrupt, and the internal structure of the paragraphs is disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', 'Furthermore'), they are often used incorrectly or do not help to create a logical progression of ideas. The referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison of data points. Improved paragraphing and more precise use of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often used inaccurately. Phrases such as 'working capacity' and 'working achievements' do not accurately describe the data provided. There is a reliance on basic vocabulary, and the attempt to use more complex terms leads to errors in collocation and meaning (e.g., 'little exceed'). The misuse of terminology significantly impacts the clarity of the report. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using precise vocabulary to describe statistical data, such as 'proportion', 'majority', 'figures', and 'fluctuate'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, missing articles, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'Tap is such type of dance classes which shows...'). The attempt to use complex sentences often results in errors that make the meaning unclear. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly regarding the use of commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that subjects and verbs agree before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
