Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to cover the main features, but the presentation is significantly flawed. While you identify the private studio as the most popular location, the description of the data is often confusing or inaccurate. For instance, stating 'Ballet is 300' is unclear as it lacks units or context. The comparison between age groups is attempted, but the lack of clear data synthesis makes it difficult for the reader to follow the trends. You need to group information more logically rather than listing raw numbers, which often appear disconnected from the charts provided. To improve, focus on identifying clear trends and making direct comparisons between the categories rather than just transcribing figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The progression of ideas is disjointed, particularly in the second and third paragraphs where sentences feel like a list of isolated facts rather than a cohesive analysis. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'and' and 'but'. The referencing is also unclear; for example, 'it is doubled of school halls' lacks a clear antecedent. To improve, use linking words like 'in contrast', 'furthermore', or 'whereas' to connect your ideas and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as one for locations and one for dance types.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'biggest', 'lowest', and 'number of student'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'vivid that the private studio are 48 percent' and 'conforming 450'. The phrasing is often unnatural, which hinders the clarity of your report. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'majority', 'minority', 'fluctuate', or 'account for'. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and adverbs will also help you express the data more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('private studio are'), incorrect sentence structure ('it is very highest'), and awkward phrasing ('how much individuals learn dance classes... are these days attending'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. The range of structures is limited to simple sentences, with very few attempts at complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading for basic errors before finishing is essential.
