Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided relevant comparisons. You covered both the location data and the dance types by age group. However, the report lacks a clear overview of the data trends, and some figures are slightly inaccurate or presented in a way that makes comparison difficult. For instance, stating 'half of this number' is less precise than directly referencing the data points. To reach a higher band, ensure that all key features are highlighted with greater precision and that the overview provides a more comprehensive summary of the most significant trends observed across both charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, and there is a lack of variety in how you link ideas. For example, the start of the second paragraph uses 'According to the Pie chart', which is a standard way to introduce data, but the overall flow between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the use of linking words and referencing would enhance the logical progression of your report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the necessary information clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'private studios' and 'ballet dance class'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'maximum students' instead of 'the highest number of students' or 'college based studio' instead of 'college-based studios'. To improve, try to incorporate a wider range of synonyms and more precise collocations to describe data trends, such as 'predominant', 'account for', or 'a significant proportion'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The private studios is', 'The college based studio have') and article usage (e.g., 'in college studio'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and capitalization errors, such as 'Overall, The private...'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and article usage will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
